UFC on Fox: Evans vs. Davis, Sonnen vs. Bisping – Odds + Predictions + Video

UFC on Fox 2

UFC on Fox 2

UFC on Fox 2 – Evans vs. Davis
January 28, 2012
United Center,
Chicago, Illinois, United States

Rashad Evans (-210) vs. Phil Davis (+170)
Chael Sonnen (-400) vs. Michael Bisping (+300)
Chris Weidman (-150) vs. Demian Maia (+120)
Chris Camozzi (-170) vs. Dustin Jacoby (+140)
Joey Beltran (-225) vs. Lavar Johnson (+175)
Shane Roller (-260) vs. Michael Johnson (+200)
Charles Oliveira (-600) vs. Eric Wisely (+400)
Cub Swanson (-145) vs. George Roop (+115)
Mike Russow (-150) vs. Jon Olav Einemo (+120)
Evan Dunham (-400) vs. Nik Lentz (+300)

Predictions
Many of the match-ups featured in Fox on UFC 2 appear to feature heavy favorites. There appears to be a good amount of money made on the underdogs.

Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis
Rashad makes his return after handily defeating Tito Ortiz and considerably ups the level of competition in facing Mr. Wonderful Phil Davis. Davis is obviously much younger, but has yet to face the caliber of fighter that Rashad has. Davis’ win over Little Nog was decisive, but is not the type of performance that will get his hand raised in victory over Rashad. Evans is always finely tuned and will probably prefer to keep this fight on the feet and hopefully use his boxing to edge out Davis. Prediction: Rashad Evans by Decision.

Chael Sonnen vs. Michael Bisping
Some might argue that this is the true main event of the evening given that so many wanted to see this fight happen, and due to some lucky circumstances, the fans and the fighters themselves get an opportunity to get a shot at Spider Silva. While Bisping is the best he’s ever been, he’s not in the same league as Chael Sonnen. Sonnen’s intensity and aggressiveness are sure to wear out The Count well before the three rounds are over. Prediction: Chael Sonnen by Decision.

Going to see Haywire? Gina Carano thinks you should.

Gina Carano makes her starring role debut in Haywire, a film with a stacked cast featuring Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas to mention a few.

Here is the IMDB synopsis.

A black ops super soldier seeks payback after she is betrayed and set up during a mission.

Sounds riveting. If that isn’t compelling enough, feel free to check out a pic of the star, as featured in GQ magazine.

Predictions
Alistair Overeem vs. Brock Lesnar
There are a number of question marks surrounding both competitors in this main event. Overeem didn’t look terribly impressive during his last outing in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament. Lesnar has been on the sidelines for months dealing with his medical issues. So neither is exactly on a hot streak that would give him an edge coming into the octagon. The bookies are likely leaning on Overeem’s experience and questioning Lesnar’s chin, and that is probably what is going to be the deciding factor here. But if this turns into a wrestling or grappling match, that opinion would surely swing in the other direction. If Overeem catches Lesnar with a solid punch or knee, he’ll have his hand raised. Prediction: Overeem by KO.
